| Contact Soccer offers a unique program for girls
and boys in Pre-K through 8th grades in Winchester and surrounding
communities. The program is founded on the premise that American
youth soccer has become too structured and despite our best intentions
to provide a positive experience for our children, they simply don't
play enough and are often subject to the pitfalls of programs overly
focused on competive results. The club’s program is based
on two core principles:
- Maximum Ball Contact - Kids will have more
fun and develop into better soccer players if they are given the
opportunity to play in an environment that affords maximum contact
time with the ball. This is achieved by minimizing travel to soccer
venues and offering flexible schedules to families.
- Maximum Friend Contact - Kids should have
maximum contact with their friends by being allowed
to play soccer with them. We can't do this if we become obsessed
with creating teams based on age or playing ability.
We have an exciting program that is based on the core activity
of pickup play where players spend between 1 and 1 1/2 hours playing
fiercely competitive but fun soccer with their friends and mentors
(upper middle school and high school players). We call this activity
Mentored Street Soccer.

Fall 2008 Announcement
Our spring 2008 program was our biggest ever with nearly 100 participants. This growth while exciting is also problematic given the fact that the majority of responsibility falls on Patrick's shoulders (although I am very greatful for the help from Judy Bongiorno & Rich Crawford). In addition, our high school mentors were all seniors and have gone off to college). Hence, we are sorry to say that Contact Soccer in its current form has suspended operations.
If there is sufficient parental interest, we will work towards getting Contact Soccer 2.0 going for the spring. If you are interested in being involved (either on the field or off), please contact Patrick Demasco at 781 507-4471.
Summer 2008 Program
